Lack of Sleep

Before having Baby Boy, I rarely knew what sleeplessness was. I would have the occasional night where the old cranial gears wouldn't stop spinning, but those were generally few and far between. Any other night, I always managed to quickly fall asleep and recharge for the next day.

That ended last September. I could wax poetic about the hallucinations or the mood swings or the exhaustion, but instead, let's focus on the numbers:

Compared to my normal physical sleep requirement of eight hours per night, I am currently at a seven-month sleep deficit of 645 hours.

That's nearly twenty-seven days.

Averaged out, that's ninety-two hours of forsaken sleep per month. Jesus.
